last time i used ultra-seals with the blue stuff around the ports, i don't really think they're worth the money? i just ordered the old faithful mr gasket 214's this time, they're cheap and they work. just don't use the end seals that come in the set, throw them as far as you can~~~~~!!! they don't stay in long enough to start it up. just use a thick bead of silicone, and if you still have the old turkey pan gasket you can trim it down and drill a few holes in it to make a heat shield. set it in the silicone bead, a little bead on the block, then set the shield, then a little more bead and set the intake. i guess you could use any piece of light gauge sheet metal to make a shield?

I always use a Fel-Pro valley pan gasket , that way it keeps the hot oil off the bottom of the intake. There around $30-$35 at parts stores. Tom
