HPX questions

I installed a ITP High Pressure crossover line (stainless) today and I have a few concerns.
The installation was fairly easy, however the instructions say to use a few drops of thread locker. How are you supposed to get thread locker on something that is covered in oil ? I have it installed with no leaks, but it took me a two attempts to stop small leaks.
Will this eventually work loose because of no thread lock ?
Has anyone ever had one of these things leak bad of become disconected ? It looks like it could be a real disaster if it ever came disconected.

the thread locker will still somewhat work covered in oil. if you get it snugged up right it shouldnt come loose for a long long time. if it comes loose it will just leak a little at first ive never heard of one blowing off. it would just make a big mess is all it will do. the regular hpop lines will work loose over time also.

Just curious... did your engine run any different.. quieter or smoother? I am thinking about doing this mod also..

I forgot threadlocker too when I put mine in earlier this week. But, I'm too paranoid about it coming loose, so I took it back off and dropped some locker on the threads. At least it was an easy install, just frustrated that I forgot it. Although, I didn't have a lot of oil coming out of the plugs in the heads. Probably had something to do with the fact that it was pretty cold out (28*) and the truck hadn't been started in a couple of days.

you wouldn't believe the difference it made. silky smooth idle, less injector knock, and alot quieter when at highway speed. well worth the $75.

I didn't use any type of thread-locker on mine when I installed it and no leaks. Just be sure to tighten it well. Also remember to keep the plugs in your glovebox just in case the unexpected happens.

You can get these from Dennis at ITP Diesel.

I've had mine on and off a few times and never used thread locker or ever had a leak.

The SS HPX can be purchased from KCMDieselPerformance .com or ITPDiesel. com

It definitely runs quieter, I notice it the most at highway cruising speed.

I the the plugs in a bag along with a 5/8 wrench, and put them in the glove box......just in case.
