you just need a coil a primary wire a spark plug a bung and a switch and run the engine rich or add a fuel dump inline.

sure propane would be better as it would save you from having to run raw fuel through your engine.

This is actually a General auto topic not a 73-79 truck topic.

The guy on TV with the hot rod shop just had a show about creating them.

Just so you know .......They are HIGHLY ILLEGAL in every state and province.

If you going to use gas which is hard on the motor make sure you don't have Cats. I would go with Propane and use a VW camper van tank, it's 6 1/2" x 23" long easy to hide inside the frame. Make buzzers out of a common relays to fire your coils if dual exhaust or build a timer to flip flop a relay for alternate left right left right. Check the net under flame throwers for ideas but you can build your own cheaper. Why be normal?

FWIW the Auto-Loc and most other brands that cut spark to cylinders WILL make a flame but it's very hard on your engine. You're washing the oil off the cylinder walls with raw fuel. I'm piecing together my flame throwers but I probably won't have them done for another month or so. I will be using a seperate fuel nozzle in each pipe to fuel the flame so that I don't have to destroy my engine to put on a flame show.

In regards to legality, there's a lot of stuff that's not legal to USE on the street, but this doesn't mean you can't have it on a street driven vehicle. It's really no different than offroad lights. Just don't turn them on when you're on the street and there will be no issues. Besides, unless you light them up nobody would ever know you've got flame throwers.

I'll put together an article with details on how I build mine if you can wait a little while.

My comments were only intended to let a person know that this is a great way for a person to bring attention to oneself and if one considers it worth it or not to be confronting a peace officer.

Some people in this world aren't rebels to the law.

On the show Trucks Stacy did a crappy install for the plugs, they should have bungs welded in at the top so everythings out of sight from the side and rear view. Far as the law, rules or laws should be bent at times unless your a walking corpse of a person, not me.
