three days ago when i started my truck, i noticed the idle speed had increased. i keep the idle at 650 normally and now it idles around 800-850 rpms. the throttle cable is returning to the normal position. idle speed screw checks out ok. and the cold idle solenoid is not activating. i don't know what would make this change in idle speed. anyone have any ideas? also, there is no difference in the way the truck runs, power or fuel mileage.
There is an allan head screw on the back of the IP with a nut on it directly center above the IP lines. It Controls the RPMs internally of the IP try backing it out a 1/4 to 1/2 a turn and make sure that the nut is tightened to lock the screw in place. That should lower your RPMs.

I adjusted my screw on the back of the ip and it had no effect on rpms. From what ive heard that screw controls the governor, but shouldn't effect how it idles.
I played around with it and found that when i screwed it in all it does is increase the RPM without actually moving the throttle lever. the lever and your accelerator pedal stays the same, but its internally that the governor is changed. At WOT my truck not revs to 3800 RPM it used to only do 3200 RPM. Which at that setting it makeds the truck feel better with power because you dont have to push the accelerator as far to get the power. I turned the screw in and my idle RPM increased but my MPG increased 1.2 MPG so im happy with it.
