It's not a coffee can I know that

It's a vacuum reservoir to allow a surplus of vacuum available for running the AC,cruise control, and brake booster so the vacuum doesn't get depleted when using these components,

Btw, you could have just started your own thread instead of reviving a 6 year old one

My 77 F-150 has both cans. One is charcoal canister. It is located on the passenger side at the front of the engine. The other is on the driver's side and that is for the brakes.
