Question Stack Questions

OK here goes i know Rubberduck and Redstroker will like my idea dont know about any others but ive been looking and pricing thinking about getting the stack kit from blackcloud without the stacks the 5" to be exact and going with 7" reducing to 5" turn out and putting that on the y pipe from blackcloud, but my question is where can i get a cat delete pipe thats 4" that will go far enough back to the flex pipe for the stacks and a good 3" expanding to 4" downpipe for the money also about a cold air intake from K&N if possible and maybe a 4 position or 6 position flip chip, but need to know who is best on this too, and Rubberduck or Redstroker if yall come across a truck that has some big stacks on it let me know asap ok thanks Lance

3" to 4" downpipe can be had from Dale at tymarperformance.com. Forget the K&N, it will leak dust & eat your turbo.

DABIGTOW im a firm believer in K&N i have one right now and ive never had a problem with a K&N filter in any of my trucks, 3 diesels, one gas car, my dad uses them and the mechanic we use , uses them never have had a problem with the turbo or dirt getting in the motor either, so guess it all depends on the operator behind the wheel and if they keep the filter cleaned, i always keep my cleaned so dirt dont happen to get past the airbox either. Here's a filter that will flow better than a K&N can ever hope to, and look better as well.

I cleaned & oiled my K&N drop-in filter every 40k and still ended up with a dusted turbo. Replaced it somewhere around 300k & put in a Tymar intake kit. Big improvement in boost & performance. Filter goes about 25k-30k before I notice any change in boost, then I change it.

BTW, I used to be a firm believer in K&N; ran them on a lot of my gas rigs, including a couple of very hot small-block racers.

to answer the question at hand.... you might try a pipe company. i found some 4.5" pipe used for conduit that I am running as a straight pipe. i run it all the way from my Tymar DP to just behind the rear axle. then I took a 90* 5" elbow from a Peterbuilt and welded it on as a turndown. i LOVE it although someday i do aspire to have stacks

K&N's are horrible for diesels... they just intake air at such a higher volume than a gasser. have you ever put your hand over the intake? it feels like a vaccum. imagine a filter such as the K&N with all those large holes trying to catch 99.99% dust particles.... it wont happen

its hard to beat the tymar paper filter or the napa 6637 filter. after running the napa filter for almost 100K miles my turbo fins still look brand new
