Lift - 800
Shocks - 150 - Skyjackers
limited slip - 300-1000 depending on if its a LS or locker

thanks ramboss that is what i wanted to know.

Kubota...i understand they want me to get a 4x4 and personally i agree...if i want to really offroad, i need a 4x4...i did at once consider making what i have a 4x4. BUT i don't want to lose the gas mileage because this is mainly a daily driver. plus, i like a challenge. around here the best offroading we have can be tackled with a 2wd truck as long as the driver knows what he/she is doing...

i re-read my previous post and can kinda see how it seems defensive...thats not how i meant it to come out...

thanks for the help and sorry for the misunderstanding

chris

its cool...honestly theres not a huge mpg difference in a fullsize 4x4 pickup and the same truck with 2x4....especially when you get to running larger tires

Rough Country lift kits should be around $400 or so. No extended radius arms, though.

Actually, the mpg loss with a selectable 4WD is very minimal (in 2WD mode) and mainly comes from the added weight. It's the AWD or fulltime 4WD that suffers from a more significant mpg loss. But when you get an off-road tread with a bigger diameter and footprint, that's where you may start losing some significant mpg.

That depends on what you do. If you don't install a lift, and leave everything in the stock condition, except add FWD, it can be pretty cheap:

New front axle, and transfer case from junkyard: anywhere from $200-$400

Then you have to have a tranny shop swap the output shaft on the tranny for you, assuming you are keeping your current tranny, and I was qouted $200.00 for the swap, no rebuilding or anything, just a straight shaft swap.

add a little for misc parts that you never think of, like bushings, ball joints, ujoints, driveshafts, etc.

I would say you could do it under $1000.00 easy.

I am just finishing this conversion on my 1988, but I put on a lift, new tires, new rims, and I am rebuilding my C6 tranny myself, with performance parts, new gears, and lockers.

When all is said and done, I'll have spent much more then $1000.00, but most of that is for things I would have still done even if the truck came as a 4x4.
It's not hard, time consuming maybe, but not hard.
Good luck if you go for it!

Best bet is to do a Solid axle swap. Its just as easy, if not easier than putting the stock TTB under it. There are a few posts on here that are very recent on SAS, do a search and if your interested on doing that let us know and we'll help ya out!
