Question, I have a newly rebuilt Transmission e4od or something like that out of a 96, there is a 87-91 style bronco going through auction. Dont know exact model year yet, anyway, will that 96's tranny adapt to any of those trucks?
Why is in sitting in the back of my broke down chevy bed? Cause my 93 bronco was stolen. And never recovered. Oh well.
Hopefully one of the experts will jump in here and give you a definitive answer, but I'm fairly sure that you would have some issues.
You've given a wide year range, so I don't know what tranny is in the Bronco at auction. The E4OD needs the right wire harness and engine control computer; and I'm not sure if your tranny is a 96 or 93. Significant changes were made to the E4OD as late as 95, so if the Bronco had an early generation E4OD, you might be able to put a pre-95 solenoid pack on a post-95 E4OD and make it work. If it's an AOD truck, you might be looking at changing out the entire harness and engine control computer.
Frankly, unless you're real confident about that kind of tinkering, you might just want to buy a truck that's the same model year of your tranny. Just my $.02.
