2spd rear end?
hey i'm looking to get an OD gear out of my c6 auto behind my FE 390. i've been told there is a 2sp rear end out there but don't know anything about it....anybody got anything on it? thanks

i was told an old 2sp axle out of an old international pickup dually had a 2sp that would bolt into 70's ford, but good luck w/ that one! i tried to look into it and had no luck and couldn't find any info either, sorry. maybe you will have better luck

Yes, I did, I was looking for one, until I found out there were rears in the 50's that had this function, and I was unable to find anything "newer". While a junkyard type of guy all the way, I didn't want to slap on something from the 50's that I'll struggle to find parts for when it breaks.
And everything breaks eventually.
So, I bit the bullet and got a gear vendors unit. Used, off-ebay, the 3D0172 unit which is designed to mount between the two driveshafts on my crewcab, replacing the carrier bearing in the middle.
