Question '94 F150 Door Hinge

Anybody had to replace their door hinge pins? What is the best way to remove the OEM door pins? (Drivers Door is Sagging) It looks like I need to squeeze a grinder in there and shave the top, then tap them down...Should I replace the whole door hinge? Just wandering if there was a better way..Thanks..Oh yea. I bought the replacement pins from NAPA...Are these ok....?

This may sound like the long way, but I found that taking the fender off was far easier than trying to work in the restricted area of the door jambs.

The fender(s) come off very easy, to me shockingly easy, only one bolt that is hid & it's in the bottom of the door well about 8 inches in, need a flashlight to see it. Yes you do have to take the head lights and grill off to get to the screws that are in the front of the radiator support bracket but this is very simple to; the grill has only 1 bolt in the center and the corners snap in to place. Headlights/ turn sigs come out as a unit by removing 4 bolts and twisting the bulb sockets connectors off the back. With those removed there are only 3 or 4 small sheet metal screws on the front, and 1 or two bolts near the hood hinge and one under the body just in front of the door plus the hidden one, taking your time it should not require any more than about 30 minutes to get it off. Then you have complete access to the hinge and the mounting bolts. It is not a bad idea to take the door off completely (pop off inner door panel and 1 arm rest screw and disconnect main plug) with the door closed and window down removethe 3 bolts per hinge, open the door and Lift it off, then you can take care of any rust issues that has developed behind the hinge as well as easily replace the hinge. For 1 door from start to finish It's an afternoon job if you are prepared and work steady.

Hope this helps...

And I thought getting the grinder in there was going to be a chore..Didn't realize this would include the front grill...I'll take a look at that process this afternoon...But, when you finally get to the pin, did you cut yours out or will it slide out one way or the other...maybe with a punch tool? Oh and thanks for the instructions...

The bottom of the pin is dimpled and can be drilled down/off and tapped or Punched out, here is a link that has a very good layout of the process for doing a 79 Bronco however https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...ge_Repair.htmlI believe those hinges are slightly different from a 94. ALso it is not entirely necessary to take the fender off but if you don't you will fight getting the door realigned with the fender in the way and you could ding the edge of fender getting to the hinge bolts. For the extra hour Removing & Installing you save time on the reinstall and it is much smoother process.

Good Luck

If you have a rotary tool, like a Dremmel, you can get a saw blade that will cut the hinge pin without removing the door or fender. Then just drive the top of the pin up and the bottom down. Replace the bushings and insert the new pin. There are some threads discussing this with pictures. Use the search to find them. I did mine in less than an hour.
Good luck.
