Love the show. Chip Foose does a great job of creating one-off cars, being able to see how a car will look in the end when he has a rust bucket sitting infront of him.
I love the show when they do old vehicles....but if they do one like that 06 Mustang, i don't like it as much....but that's my personal interpretation..i'd rather go out and mess with wiring on my 57 then watch them redo a brand new car.
YES...more deserving people would be nice. 06 mustang...WTH??
Personally, the only thing i like about Chip Foose is the paint he puts on the cars. Ill probably get flamed for this....but...
If someone took my 70 442, rust bucket, with rust wholes, chrome trim in the back.....and put it on the show, and i found out they slammed it to the ground, put some cheesy rims on it and remove my door handles, pi$$ed off would be an understatement.
Just once id like to see them actually put a vehicle back together half way normal. To me "custom" means putting a Hot engine in. Removing handles, rims, slamming it to the ground, and putting 3.5 billion watt speakers in the doors is downright vehicular mutilation.

OK...im off my soap box, and putting on my Nomex.
You got to admit that old green thunderbird was pretty sweet!

They do some preetty neat stuff. Some of it is not to my taste. I prefer restoring on old hot rod to stock condition with a hot engine. I'm not into lowering and shaved handles etc. Don' need 5000w amps and speakers. I prefer to listen to the engine lope with a hot cam.
i do not care for the show, and think chip foose is a butcher. everything that i have seen that he has "repaired" in my opinion is garbage. he does build a nice traditional car like for the riddler, but i walk a different path when it comes to "restomoding" a car.
I like most of the cars they do but some times they tend to go overboard. Like the Green Thunderbird that was mentioned, What if he didn't want the top cut off!!! So he could drive it all the time. Now if it rains he's SOL. Not to mention I hope he has an inclosed garage! The other day when I was watching it and they were doing the "Biggest beater in America", I knew from the time they showed that Camero it was gonna be the one they would do. I like to the see the reaction on the owners face when they see the car! I want to see someone crying they are so happy!! I still watch it though! LOL I'd let Chip Foose do my truck. AS LONG AS HE DOESN'T CHOP THE TOP!
