I like most of the cars they do but some times they tend to go overboard. Like the Green Thunderbird that was mentioned, What if he didn't want the top cut off!!! So he could drive it all the time. Now if it rains he's SOL. Not to mention I hope he has an inclosed garage! The other day when I was watching it and they were doing the "Biggest beater in America", I knew from the time they showed that Camero it was gonna be the one they would do. I like to the see the reaction on the owners face when they see the car! I want to see someone crying they are so happy!! I still watch it though! LOL I'd let Chip Foose do my truck. AS LONG AS HE DOESN'T CHOP THE TOP!

that biggest beater episode was a joke those are not beaters Ill give them a beater.Tell chip to come to marietta we got plenty of em.appreciate ya!
I can't watch it, the show is based upon a silly premise...show me an old car, rebuild it, and that is good enuf, I don't need the theater.
When you sit down and watch the show "overhaulin" has anyone seen any people that left the Boyd Coddington company?? I thought Chip Foose had hired (or stole away, as Boyd says it) a few techs from Coddington.
When I first heard of the show I didn't like the idea at all, but after watching it a few times I really came to enjoy it. I've liked most of the cars Chip has come up with, and remember he has an "insider" to clue him into what the owner would like his or her car to look like. IMHO the best of this type of show on TV, much better than Pimp My Ride or that Funkmaster Flex drivel.
I think it's a pretty great show. One thing that you have to appreciate is that Chip actually talks to the people who are close to the vehicle's owner and tries to figure out what the owner would want.

No kidding, the camaro and the AMC were both pretty nice to begin with, I liked the camaro better with the lakepipes anyhow. That old 30 something truck should have won, that thing looked like a beater.
I like the idea of the show of taking a car, making the guy worry his head off about what happened and then fix the car up. I like to keep things simple myself so I prefer to keep changes more minor and usually I don't care for the paint jobs that are done.
And Courtney Hanson from Overhaulin takes Danica Patrick's place as host for Spike TVs series of Powerblock shows. When Courtney disappeared from OH I thought she'd surface on Style Channel.

I like Courtney way better than the chick that is currently on Overhaulin. She's better to look at than Danica, IMO, but Danica is a little more "real", I have to say.
It's interesting to watch.. but a few episodes I couldn't bear to watch, and a few others I had to cringe. They did one on the white thunderbird, that was a beautiful car to begin with and was a shame what they did to it. They also had a ford pickup just the other day that was in mint.. mint condition and they dropped it which ruins a pickup in my opinion. Alot of good cars that would be worth alot of money in it's original form will be ruined, I wonder if the owners realize it??
i like the show.some of the projects are a little too new for my liking.i like the basket case projects better.the pre 1980 cars and trucks make for better customs in my opinion.-billy
I like to think of cars in these terms. If I put it all stock and make it mint then all I can do is rub it with a diaper. If I trick it out new and upgraded susp.interior,paintetc.I can drive it.What good is a car you cant drive and enjoy. My dad buys classic fords like 1 every 2 months and drives maybe once. They are invbestments to him.And I just want to drive them and ride in the rumble seats etc.appreciate ya!But if a classic is in great shape than I agree it should be restored to factory because there is nothing like a new old car!

Might not have been behind the wheel of a race car but Courtneys dad is very very professional, amateur racer. Road racer in C/sportsracer. Jerry Hanson should have gone pro but beat up on the not so fortunate little guys.
I wonder how these cars hold up as far as body & paint work. They do these cars in such a short amount of time because of their "deadline". They always show them spreading on hugh amounts of "bondo", sanding it & rushing it into the paint booth. I'd like to see what those cars look like after a year or so!
