It would be a lot of work.
You will be cutting mounts off the frame and changing them since the two wheel drive truck is coil springs and the 4x4 is leaf.

Park yours beside a 4x4 close to your year and then take a serious look at both of them.

Unless you're a glutton for punishment and have alot of time to waste, it just wouldn't be worth it. Especially when you can buy a 4x4 with a 6.9 in pretty good shape for a couple grand.

Unless you are absolutely in love with your truck, I'd sell it and buy one that already is a four wheel drive. A friend of mine converted a 64 f100 to a 4x4 and he still isn't done messing around with it. Just a note: he started about ten years ago. I'm sure he has spent ten times as much money on the truck than he could sell it for. You better think long and hard about this one. It is not that easy.

If you like a relatively soft ride stay away from all of the "performance" shocks. They are really stiff unless you buy ones you can adjust.

I really like my Bilsteen shocks. Controlled, but not at all harsh.
