My personal hell aka THE FLU!
All my joints hurt, severe headache, sore throat, fever, nose running, coughing, feeling dizzy, nauseous, and breath on par with a camel.
I've been trying to hold off my sneezes by pinching my nose. Last sneeze put me down for 15 minutes with all over body pains and a blinding headache.
Uggghhh, I shoulda gotten that flu shot. For now, DayQuil is my friend, and tonight NyQuil (with just a drop of Jagermeister) will be my bedtime sleeping buddy.
I guess the good part about it is I can stay home and watch the USC/Texas game.
Someone pass me the Kleenex!

At least you haven't had the sweats. Nothing like waking up in bed with a puddle of sweat. Even my beach towels couldn't keep up.
I get my flu shot, almost every year, but usually I get something like the flu every few years. I guess at least the symptoms are less than they used to be when I thought I would die.
Just getting over my bout which started the day after XMAS and with me getting out of bed by the 30th.
PITA,
Jim Henderson

i will trade you.
i will take your flu, if you will take my frozen shoulder socket.
no questions asked.

as a matter of fact, i will take 2 flu's.
and i will even throw in the pain killers and anti inflammatory pills for free.

When I was a kid the “flu” was up half the night bowing to the porcelain throne, and if you were a good actor you got out of school the next day. I never thought much of flu shots since it was not a real big deal. Last year I got what I am told was the flu. I will NEVER miss a flu shot again. I spent a week in bed, and a month after that getting over it.

I don't really think I've had the flu, and am with bigdaddy on this one. Don't think I'm going to get a flu shot either.
In the meantime, just try and drink a lot of fruit juices. Tropicana (i think) makes one with orange, strawberry and banana in it--an old girlfriend used to call it 'get better juice', and it honestly always made us feel better if we got sick. Lots of anti-oxidants.....or something.

Yech fruit juices?? Maybe something thin like apple juice but I couldn't imagine drinking anything with some thickness to it.
I finally manned up and tried to eat solid food in celebration of the Horns winning, I downed a turkey pot pie. 30 minutes later I was doing my paperwork like I've never done before, if you get my drift.
I went ahead and pre-called into work for tomorrow, so I'll have another good day of rest before I try to do anything with this sickness.
