I need to buy a new electric shaver, so far I've had a Norelco (it worked well but it took a long time to get the job done), a Braun (it worked very good but was expensive and it didn't last very long) and most recently a Wahl (it worked very good but it was the loudest of the three and the screens kept breaking). Of you guys who are using electric shavers what do you think is the best that you've used?
ALl I've ever had are Norelco top of the lines....
only problem with them is they keep improving them so much every few years I have three or four perfectly good old style razors !!!!
Im with you jdadamsjr,I have two Norelco brand razors, and no complaints with either. But my old Remington died on me after my ex started using it to shave the hair on her feet!
My newest "electric" razor is a Gillette Mach3 Power. I can't stand regular electric razors...get razor burn all over my throat. The best razors I've ever used are the Gillette Mach 3 series...and now this one with the battery...wow...it really IS better. And I didn't think they could improve on perfection. I don't have a really heavy beard, but it grows in 48 different directions. Probably why using a regular electric doesn't work so good.
I've got a Norelco that I've had for years. It's the best electric razor I've ever used, style with the 3 screens in it . . . waterproof and all that good stuff. The blazes last a lifetime too.
Torquefirst, I've still got my first razor, a Gillette safety razor. I stopped using it about five years ago, because it became harder and harder to find blades for it. It would give you a close shave, especially when you turned the adjustment **** to 9! Man that thing would shave right down to the bone and keep going!
I've had a bunch of electrics. Norelcos do the best job on my neck, where the hair goes every which way. But the best overall razor IMHO is the Braun 6000 and 7000 series. Yeah, they are expensive, but I think it's not worth getting the cheaper models which don't do as good a shave. They have improved the batteries to where you only need to charge every 10 days or so.

So the Norelco puts a blaze on your face that never goes away?
I change the screen/blade combo about twice a year on my Braun. I think they recommend every year, but the improvement is so noticeable I don't wait that long.
I also use a norelco i'm on my second now the one with that waterproofs with the lotoin. i have found that if an electric razor irritaes use just use a pre-electric shave lotoin i forget the brand i used to use but it worked great just put it on let it dry and an nice close smooth shave.
Good time to dump your Electric razor and go with Gillette Mach 3. It's almost impossible to nick yourself with these, no razor rash even if you shave twice in a day. I get a week out of a blade and about 8 months out of a can of shave gel.

Um, whoops, I guess I should proof read my posts. I mean the BLADES last a lifetime, not the blazes. That didn't sound good at all! I'm not a maintenance kind of guy so my blades don't get changed near as often as they're supposed to be but it works just fine.
I used to have a Remington, never really liked it. One day my dad used it and was horrified, he said, "This thing just chews around and rips out chunks!" It was always wearing out the screens, and they would wear through in the middle of a shave and..."Gotcha!" And were like 8-10 bucks to replace. My dad turned me on to an old Norelco that he had, I've been using it for about 20 years now, I guess it's time to upgrade, but it'll be another Norelco for sure. -TD
i hate electric razors...i have trouble getting them to shave close...i use a mach III...they have sent me 3 in the mail for free....i know why though...they get you to use them so you will buy the $$$$$ blades
i have my grandpa's safety razor from WWII...maybe i will try it out some time
