Hey all, I had a quick question. I've seen a plastic molded storage box that fits behind the bench seat of 1997-03 regular cab f-150s. It pretty much fills up the entire space. I was wondering if any of you know who makes this and where i could possibly get one as ive got too many things sliding around behind my seat itd be nice to be able to keep them all together. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I bought one for my truck from the dealer, its a "rear cab storage bin" which fits neatly behind the seats and replaces the factory equipped tray. It really doesn't take up much room and holds a lot of stuff. I use it for small items, e.g. tools, tow strap, tow harness adapters, etc. The top is flat like a shelf which is good for groceries and keeping things in reach. They match your interior color, Ford accessory base part# 15115A00, my part number was F75Z15115A00CAD for a medium graphite interior. Mine came as a kit which included a complete cab rear panel which I did not need. If you have a rear cd changer there is one which will accommodate the unit.
ah cool. this sounds about right. my question remaining is where do you get them? I have a 2003 f-150 and i cant find this rear cab storage bin on the fordaccessories.com website. I also checked ebay and didnt find a single thing. I really would like to see a picture of what it looks like. Thanks for the feedback though
ok i found a picture of it, its in my gallery. does anyone know where i can get one of these and an estimate of how much they are? any more help would be great, thanks
If you're talking about the black box that you posted in your gallery, its not that great. I had one stock, took it out because it took up so much room. The opening at top isnt really big enough allow most thing to fit in. There were four or so bolts holding it down. Bolts still sticking out of floor, but it is a lot more usable space.
I would have to agree with fordman311, I've got the stock one and it isn't that great, takes up more room that it's worth. Opening the lids on it is a pain and the opening is very narrow. I compared the amount of space in my dad's Ram and then shake my head at how little there is in mine. We both have 2000's and are both reg. cabs. I'll probably remove mine this spring when it's a little warmer and maybe fashion some sort of tray for the bottom similar to what comes standard in the Ram.
