06 f150 scab 4x4.....Bit the bullet and finally traded in my 96 reg cab with 157k on it. Not an ounce of problems with it. Mine has about 60 miles on it(just got it yesterday!!) I love it!! Rides like a dream. I hope I am blessed with this truck. I was kind of gettin worried after seeing all the posts with problems with the truck, nice to see something positive
Cheers

Congrats 96F150. I did forget to mention one of my biggest problems in my prior post ... my wife and daughter love the truck so much that they leave their Infinity and Maxima in the drive way and take off in my 150!!! Damn Ford for not engineering a wife and daughter detection system for I hate finding the thing missing.... hmmm ... maybe they call just such a detection system a KEY !!!!

Good luck and enjoy.

Only prob with my 04 was a recall on the front steering rack.

I can't imagine getting rid of this truck anytime soon.

I've had my '05 FX4 for a month and have 2100 miles on it. I had to have the starter replaced at 500 miles, but thats the only problem so far. I was hesitant to buy a new 150 because of all the problems I've heard about them, but am glad that I bought it. This truck is ten times better than my '01, it handles better, looks better, and is so smooth that I have a hard time keeping it under 75 because it never seems like your going that fast, and at idle the motor is so quiet and smooth that you can't even tell that it is running. I do notice a little more vibration on rough roads than with my '01, but because of the weight of this truck, and how much stiffer the frame is, I knew that it wouldn't soak up the bumps quite as well. So far fuel mileage is about the same as my old one, 13 - 15 for combined city/short distance and 17 on interstate running 70 to 80 mph. The only real complaint that I have is that the rear view mirror is mounted too high up for a short person like me,and it seems like it is too small for the truck.
