Help with shipping

I am looking at buying and engine in Levittown, Pa. The only problem is that I'm in Arkansas and the guy won't ship it. He will only allow someone to pick it up.

I would be willing to pay someone if they could make sure the engine is palletized correctly and would make sure it gets on the truck. I would send you the stuff to palletize it with and arrange for pickup by an LTL carrier. I would need someone with access to a loading dock or forklift.

Thanks,
jimbo

most freight companies (ie roadway) have the ability to send a truck with a liftgate, they can pick it up... This does cost extra however. I think ABF will do the same, They have a shipping calc on thier website I think

however a shipping company won't wrap or skid the unit. if they come to pick it up and it is not up to shipping specs, they will refuse it and you the sender will be charged a pick fee for them coming out there. forklift fee runs 175.00 for an engine and anohter 175.00 to unload if you do not have the ability to do so. or you can just pick it up at the nearest freight terminal and they will load it for free.

Have ya thought about saving shipping costs and going and getting it? Or is it too much of a drive?
