I like mine the old fashioned way. Cocoa, sugar and whole milk cooked on the stove. Had some tonight, mmmmmmm, good. I do agree with whipped cream on top.
i was out fishin with these guys and one of them opens his thermos and man that smelled good.it was hot chocalate laced with brandy.took a hit-good stuff.
another goody is brandy and creme soda-try it.
I just buy the cheap generic stuff and dump it into my coffee in the morning. When I want a cup of just hot chocolate (or hot cocoa, depending on which term you grew up with) I have some good stuff that, yes, mixes with milk and suger and cooks on the stove. And I like to take a piece of Swedish Vasa bread, butter it and put a slice of Swiss cheese on the top and dip it in the hot chocolate. Mmmmm....(licks lips just thinkin' 'bout it!)
I put a couple of spoonfuls of Hershey's or Nestle's cocoa in my coffee without sugar and wee tad of milk. For hot chocolate, it's milk and cocoa alone ....maybe with a little honey for sweetening. Mostly straight. However, an occasional Carolan's or Bailey's is good too.
Just do not have much of a sweet tooth anymore after swearing off sugar four years ago. Always preferred semisweet chocolate anyway.
