broken front seat armrest

I fixed the problem by scabbing a piece of heavy aluminum plate (1/8") over the broken pot metal so the alumninum could be drilled to accept the two mounting bolts for the original component. Alas I did not photograph the piece I fabricated and I haven't been able to fing it in the rubble on the floor of the burned out shell of Greystreak. Its down there... if it didn't melt. If I find it, I'll get pics of it posted.

I know this post is pretty old but...
Grey, what tools did you have to fabricated that aluminum bracket? My passenger side bracket also broke and I have had no luck at the junk yards I've been too. It broke in half and thought about welding it together with my crappy welder but I don't know if it will hold. I feel like the only option I have is to make one myself but I don't know if I have the proper tools.

Took some digging but take a gander through this thread. It might cover the info you need.

I think it's for a 96 and since I don't have arm rests, I won't know if this is what you need but take a peek anyways

Haha thanks guys. Yeah I don't think I"ll be able to use a CNC machine. I have a hacksaw, dremel tool and a drill. Maybe I can work something out. I just got an armrest from a 82 F-250 I think and am about to see if I can swap the upholstery and see if it works with my seat. I think the bracket on it is too short so it probably won't work.
Gruesome, I missed that thread completely but I may see if that guy is willing to make one for me if it's not too expensive if I can't get mine to work!
I've been really busy this week with work and have to work some overnights now so I won't be able to do much until next week. I'l be getting 20 hours overtime though oh yeah! More money for my truck!
Edit: Well surprisingly the older red armrest bolted on and worked... however the foam is a different shape and I couldn't get my upholstery around it. The bracket on the older armrest is not removable either so I guess I do have to make one!

Replacement aluminum bracket for 96 Bronco arm rests
I had the same problem with my 96 EB Bronco. After researching the problem, I couldn't find any new aluminum arm rest brackets from Ford or through Bronco parts suppliers. I bought 2 used arm rests on Ebay for $35 and installed the passenger seat bracket on my original arm rest.
I was thinking of having some replacement brackets cast locally and then selling them for cost to other Bronco owners but the setup and machining costs were very expensive.

Like I told Encho, I wasn't expecting anyone to use a CNC machine. I just figured I would drop the thread in here so that he could see it and have a few ideas. Maybe buy them from this guy or make them to the same dimension and thickness or whatever. Besides, cnc machines are overrated :P
