what seats?

I have ford ranger seats and they fit great but i was thinking of seats that dont have a tall back. What other seats are there that fit good but have a low back?

I think the 88 and up GM truck seats are a pretty common swap. You can get them in a variey of configurations from full bench, split bench, 60/40, etc
https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...a_53_F100.html

I'm with you, I don't like to see the seats sticking up above the back glass

I'm running buckets out of a mid 90s Suburban (they were free) but I've removed the headrests.

Seats aren't hard to modify, take the upholstery off and cut the frame to the height you want...reinstall the upholstery and you're good to go.

Just pray you don't get rear-ended! I did recently in a truck just old enough to not have high-backs, and it nearly took my head off. The Dr. said it was a mixed bag that I was in an extended cab; my head would have gone thru the glass on a standard cab, but that would also have stopped my neck from bending.

I'd recommend <2000 Mazda Miata seats. They are extremely comfortable, form fitting, have hard plastic on the back, fold forwards and recline, and have relatively thin backs so they will give more room behind seats or allow you to sit further back. Since the car was introduced in 1990 and is the most popular 2 seater ever sold parts are easily found and inexpensive. Spec Miata is a very popular road race class, ans someone building one will likely replace the seats.
Oh, and since Ford owns the majority share of Mazda, you won't be "usin no furrin parts".

I had a '96 Contour for a while and everything in it was marked with the Mazda name. I still have a set of seats for it I replaced with the form fitting seats from a higher level model. Actually I think the other seats I still have are in general more comfortable. The other ones turned out to be butt pinchers although they were probably better for driving on exteremely curvy roads. I am thinking of re-upholstering these and using them.

I'm another '80s Ranger bench seat fan. I especially like the bench because I've always got 'stuff' that needs to be stored. The bench let's me use storage behind as well as underneath.

I am using 60/40 seats from my old, 90 Ranger. The back is high enough but not as high as the later Ranger seats. I had the same concern with appearance. Pics of the seat are in my gallery although unfortunately I was really photographing the base so I cut off the tops.
