Column-mounted Shifter?

Column-mounted Shifter?
Do 97 XLT Manuals have column-mounted shifters? I found a car that says it's manual, but there's no stick shift.. I've also never heard of any new-ish cars having column-mounted shifters. Did they just have a mistake on the article?

Ok, thanks. Must be some error on the ad, then. I was also wondering if there was ever different transmissions for rangers than autos and manuals? I was doing some reading and saw that there's sequential manuals, semi-manual, semi-auto, etc. I'm sure you all know more about those transmissions than me, but did rangers ever have any? Seems like a sequential manual would simplify it a lot more.

yep, the manual trans ranger has always been floor-shift, i think the early autos may have been floor shift (or im just remembering a aerostar i was in once) the last ford coulmn-shift manuals were in the mid 80's i think. cant even get a full-size van with a manual trans anymore. i once had a '71 bronco that was a 3 spd coulmn shift. it was certianly different, the transfer case lever looked like the automatic "T" handle from a pinto automatic.

Older auto Rangers were floor shift also.
We only have floor stick Rangers, no column shifters, that's old school stuff. Early autos were floor, then I think it was mixed, now all are column as far as I know.
