What app are you using? I have DiProcol EGT, Boost and Trans Temp gauges, just got Torque Pro setup and it would be great if I could get EGT and fuel pressure on the app instead. My gauges are up on the windshield by the rear view mirror but I'd pull them out if I can get it all through software instead.
Fuel pressure is available in the Ford specific PIDs so if there was a reasonably priced app that could read those, you'd be able to get it. Auto Enginuity has it, right?
Unless he has a probe mounted somewhere wired to something (I don't know), there is no reading for EGT at the OBDII or for fuel PSI. There is fuel injector pulse width (FIPW).
In all honestly, I don't know enough about the Torque PIDs.
I know it's not available in Torque, they can only get the stuff that Ford is supporting through OBDII. I don't think that EGT is available through the Enhanced Ford reporting either (I've never seen it in Autoenginuity) but I fairly certain that Fuel Pressure is. I'm guessing that maybe he's hacked/customized Torque (which would be interesting to learn how to do) or that he's using an Android scantool that supports the Enhanced Ford stuff.
My Autoenginuity is pretty old so if it's the latter, I'm really interested to know what tool he's using. I'd really rather have an Android scantool vs AE since I always have my phone with me but don't always have my laptop.
That would be interesting and would like to know as well. I very well could be wrong about the fuel PSI.
Either way your going to need an EGT probe (if you don't already have one) to get a reading and this is where I drilled and tapped for mine. Right next to the oil filter driver side.
I was wanting some opinions on this before I pulled the trigger on all this equipment. Are there any?
Also the cool thing about these control modules from PLX is each one can report two readings like pre and post filter fuel pressures and duel egt's. Of course this is all theory as of now but I will know in a few weeks if it will actually work. Guess I will be the Guinea pig. Opinions wanted.
I have an EGT probe already installed for my DiProcol gauge, I'd just love to be able to use it with something on my phone instead and remove the gauges altogether.
So far, I've found this for Android - FORScan Home. It gives a little bit more than Torque and for only about $5 is worth the price but, it isn't nearly as clean as Torque for setting up gauges so is kind of useless for that. What is nice about it though, is that it will pull DTC's from all the systems, not just those that set the SES light.
You cause PLX EGT gauges with a Kiwi adapter and Torque and DashCommand.
Torque does not log EGT values
Torque gauges don't work perfectly. Notice in my photo that the digital portion of the gauge is ok but the dial and max are not.
DashCommand you have to buy DashCommand AND the Ford package ($20 total). DashCommand does not support injector pulse width as far as I can tell.
Dash command logging is goofy. You have to turn it on and off. It logs to RAM, so if the app crashes or or forget to turn logging off every hour or so you will loose your data.
I'm willing to put up with these flaws in order to get logging and the single display.
PLX sells a fluid sensor (made by Bosch) but claims it's only good for water and oil - not gas or diesel.
Torque and Dashcommand don't let you tweak the curves for sensors, so a different fluid sensor would need to have the same curve as the PLX one - or you could just accept it being off on the display and fix it in the logs with a formula.

Cool, thank you. I have Dash Command installed but haven't played with it much yet. I did not know about the PLX stuff or that Dash Command had a Ford kit.
I am interested in installing an EGT probe as well, but am nervous because I have never used a thread tap and don't want to screw up the manifold and create a big problem where one does not exist now.
