92 Explorer

Is the modulator for the transmission on the 92 explorer 2WD V8 internal or
external?

Don't know, cause the '92 didn't have the option of a V8, only engine was a 4.0L pushrod. If you've got one with a 302, it's been modified and there's no way to know what transmission it has from the information given.

He probably meant V-6 since if it does have a V-8 then he must have done it himself or was informed by the previous owner. It would be a hell of a mod to drop a 302 into an early Explorer and I'm sure someone would want to brag about that.

Yeah it would. Or the year could have been mistyped and be a 95 or later, and the 2wd and V8 would match up. Figured I'd let him respond to see which it is.
