I bought my little 1989 Ford Ranger XLT Super 2.9L V6 for a dollar from a company who had used it as a work truck. Was fairly straight, so I rebuilt the engine and transmition, and this is my daily driver. However, looking to sell it now, I'm looking to correct some of the problems I had neglected to fix.
Starting : Simply Terrible. Starts better in cold weather than anyother, and when I say cold, I mean frost on the window.. If its just any other morning it still a bear. It takes usually 2-3 flips of the key, cranking it for about 5 sec each time before it starts up. I think the fuel may not be staying up in the engine, but instead draining down to the tank so when starting your 'priming the fuel' back to the engine kinda thing? I need the experts for this one !

Have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it to verify this condition?
A fuel pressure gauge? No, and I'm illiterate when it comes to fuel systems. What kinda work or money am I looking at? I heard from a co-worker about some 'check valve' however that is foreighn to me too. If you could further into detail about the procedure that would be extreamly helpfull. Or if you could list other possibilites, I really want to hammer this one out.
