I'd agree that's a little on the high side... I've GOT a small oil leak, that I am putting off fixing, and I still don't use that much oil in 3000 miles....

Thats the thing that is worrying me, NOTHING is leaking out of the engine, so I must be burning it up. Nothing on the ground, engine is nice and clean everywhere. Any suggestions? I do let it idle about 10min every morning due to cold weather lately...

Powerstrokedlariat....Do you have a CCV mod ? If not, and you installed one, it would keep some of the oil in the engine by draining back into the valve cover.. The stock breather pulls alot of oil out the engine and sends to the exhaust thru the engine.. You experts... am i right?

I couldn't imagine the stock CCV setup using that much oil. If that were true then we would be seeing some oil consumption before we did it. I still have not done my CCV mod and I don't burn any at all w/ 207k on the clock.

If you really wanted to keep some of that oil coming out of the crankcase, you could get a crankcase ventilator filter for it. Instead of buying that real expensive unit DI sells you could just buy one made for a big block and modify it to fit on your stroker.

mine uses no oil between 5000 mile oil changes, well actually it does use some when it's time to change the oil it's down about 1-1/2 qts (almost but not at the add mark).
