big oops on my part
Well don’t feel too bad. It happens to many of us. I did something similar one time but fortunately didn't hurt anything. I had a 1990 Jeep Cherokee once. Was driving down this long dirt road leading to the beach in the daytime. This road is almost like a causeway as it separates two tidal areas. It had rained a lot earlier that week and there was an area that had washed out a bit. Maybe for 60 feet or so. Everyone else ahead of me was crossing thru the water in the washout to the extreme left or right. So I hugged the left of the road and made it thru ok. But it WAS pretty deep and made me a little nervous. I spent the day at the beach and then headed back. Making the trip down that same unlit desolate road at night, I came to that washout again. I stopped with my headlights looking out over the washout and thought about how deep it had been on that left side earlier. So, genius I am, I decide I would drive thru the middle this time. LOL...well.....it was REAL REAL deep in the middle. At first I saw the water rising pretty fast as I proceeded. I was alrerady committed at that point and had to keep going or risk stopping and getting stuck. Then, to my surprise, I actually lost the light of my headlights when they went UNDER WATER!!! Dang it was pitch black all of a sudden! Fortunately, about that same time I was pulling up to the solid road on the other side and somehow managed to get out of there. I guess I was very lucky. My engine kept running, never missed a lick, and I didn't ever have any problems from the incident.
Hope you have your truck back on the road soon.

you need to see if there is water in the cylenders because water does not compress so it would be like pushing on a brick wall, all the plugs out, actually if thats all thats wrong your way ahead, since usually when very much water is introduced into the cylenders it usually breaks every connecting rod and bends every pushrod of every cyl that has much water in it, and if ya do replace it get any gasket or hard to get to thing you might have to replace while its out, and some beer and buddies, make a weekend of it, best of luck.....

if anyone has them that would be great
Haynes manual should ahve them. Small investment for some decent information. Ford books would be bestas I'm sure you already know. Sorry to hear you toasted the old one but sounds like you might end up making out OK.
