I am pulling an original 302 out of my 69' and I do not see any hooks on the motor in which to connect up with the motor puller. I have helped to pull a couple of newer motors that had them on the motor from the factory. Can someone tell me what to do since I am ignorant on this matter. Thanks
Chief
You can either buy a carb plate, remove carb. install plate.
lift engine. Or run a heavy chain from a front head accessory
bolt to the rear of the opposite head accessory bolt and lift engine.
Chieff,
Are you using a chain? i purchased a intake manifold plate puller. You remove the carb and bolt this plate down in place and then hook the hoist to one of three holes on the puller depending on the center of gravity. It's simple, worth about $20 and it keeps the crap out of the intake while the carb is off. What do you think?

Lift plates for the intake are cool to use but you can do something else if you have a salvage yard near by.Look for in the '70s Pontiacs with v8s.Pontiacs usually have a couple of hooks on each motor especially on 400s.Just unbolt from the donor and bolt to the front and rear of your block.I usually just paint and leave them on the motor after I install it.Good luck.
so Pontiacs are good for something? (kidding) I have loved and used my intake manifold liftplate. The one I have will work on both 2V manifolds and 4V..... Chevy or Ford (haven't had an opportunity to play w/ a mopar) but I don't think it'll fit a Honda.
