Alright, i have an 02 F250 and would like to know what front axle is under the truck. Some have said a Dana 50 while others said they went to a Dana 60 after too many failures. Here is a pic of the axle tag, can anybody decipher it?
Its a dana 60 with 3.73 gears.
The only failures are the wheel bearing assm. and the weak auto hubs used by ford.
Other than that it's a pretty stout axle.

everyone says nononononono, they know what it is. but no one here has a true yes or no answer to what the axle is. the question was, can anyone decifer the picture? we all know that it has 3.73 gears. that is a no brainer. so far the answer is NO. no body so far can translate the tag.
I tried this and it brought up a parts list, am I doing something wrong? It didn't say 60 anywhere that I can see.

After typing in 611159 you get this under light axles. 60 means dana 60. that site is alittle flakey....If you type in my BOM which is a D50 you get a 50 in that space.
