The Stealership was kind enough to give me the printout of my latest visit. My Injection Driver module is bad. If I can find where it is I can replace it. Can anyone direct me? Incidentally I have a no fire condition with #5 and #8 and according to the service mgr. I need to replace the valve cover gaskets as the wiring is in the valve cover. Is this the case? I'm new to Diesel. and with my Expy having trouble I need to get one back on the road quick.
Thanks
I would change out the valve cover gaskets and any wiring thats bad before buying a IDM. IDM might not be bad. IDM is on the driverside fender close to the firewall.
The uvc harness is not hard to replace. The injector driver is behind the drivers side inner fender against the fire wall. Remove the inner fender and it is easy to change. I've never seen one go bad and the truck still run. I'd do the wireing first and see how it runs.
CHECK THE UVC FIRST!!! Stealership told me that my truck had the code for a bad
idm . $ 1,400.00 later it ended up to be the uvc harness ,I was SOL. My truck would barly run. Good luck.

When you had your truck in the strealership, Did they give you a qoute on repairing the IDM, And do you remember what trouble code they said your truck had.
Glad to hear that it was the harness and not the IDM.
I imagine they cost a little bit more now than they did in 2005 when this thread was started. The cheapest place to get them is usually at an International truck dealer. The IH part number for the harness is 1830844C93
