transmission range selector

i have to replace my transmission range selector and was wondering if anyone has done it yet. i have a 2000 250 7.3 auto w/108,000

It is only like 2 bolts holding it in there. Just take them out, unplug the old one and put the new one in. Takes about 5 minutes. I was told it was a dealer only part and they wanted $75 for it. I got mine off of a truck in a junkyard for $5.

thanks, did you just put it in w/o use of the "special alighnment tool". just wondering how " special " it is

I just put it in there. You can adjust it a little because the holes are slotted. I had to change mine because my reverse lights weren't working. They work great now, though.
