87 302 overheating

I just bought a 87 bronco with a 302 and the guy I bought it from said it would overheat due to cyl #8 having no compression and the timing advancing to compensate. When I drive it down the road the faster I go the hotter it gets. When I disconnect the plug wire for 4 or 8 the engine misses. I have been doing a lot of reading and figuring that maybe I should replace the radiator which has a pinhole leak and the water pump along with the head gaskets. I am just curious if this is what I should do? Would what the guy told me be a possible cause (he didn't seem very mechanically inclined)? What would you do?

I'd do a compression test first. See where you stand. If it's a brass radiator you can solder the pin hole easy.
