K&N drop in

Will the K&N drop in filter with the zoodad mod flow enough intake air for the Walker BTM or should I install a Napa 6637.

2002 7.3 Auto CC 4x2 SCMT set on 90hp,zoodad,BTM,Isspro gauges,Boost releif valve.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT use the K&N drop in. It is a worthless filter. I had one, and threw it away for the 6637 mod. It clogs up, and will be even worse with the Zoodad mod. Run a search on the K&N drop in on here and most likely you won't find one good statement on it. Go with the kwik mod, you will not regret it, and it will be cheaper than buying the POS K&N filter anyway! Good luck!

I too threw away the K&N for the 6637, they don't even compare to each other. Besides that you can buy two 6637s and a case of beer for the price of one K&N.

I've been searching for the best way to convert to the 6637. Seems you need to block the hot air, but 500-600 for the AIS setup seems excessive. Can you steer me in the direction for a how-to??

Well you are going to open a whole different can of worms here. But in my opinion, of which I am sure you will get many different ones, with the Zoodad mod there will be plenty of cool air getting funneled to the filter. And besides that, I don't believe that the stock air box kept any warm air out, especially since it can't even keep the sand/dirt out.

I, myself bought a K&N, and it is a great waste of money. I then bought a MAC, it has the same re-usable type element as a K&N, but flows much better and dosen't clog up from the dirt rammed in from the front of the truck. It is not cheap, but you never have to replace it.

Like GRUNT said with the zoodad theres still plenty of cool air in my opinion, plus it's still going through the intercooler.
