definitely got my first speeding ticket last nite in my gen 1 lightning. definitely a good thing he didn't catch at top speed. he managed to get me goin 16 over. so has anyone else been lucky enough to snag a ticket in their lightning?

Don't have a lightning but I can contribute a good story...

Driving in my F-150, within 8 hours after getting the 393 running well - less than 1000mi on it. It's about 12-1am and I take a right onto a two lane country road with a 40mph speed limit. Got it up to about 80-90mph and backed off to about 50.

All of a sudden I see headlights catching up to me and I say to myself it's either a cop or someone trying to match me...I come up to my street and decide to take it vs keep going - put the directional on and on go the blues.

He heard me squeal the tires out of the corner - and knew I was speeding. He took my license and blah blah - went behind my truck to talk to another officer who was with him. I heard them say something about 50 - which I assume was them discussing what speed they saw me going when they caught up to me. They didn't see me hitting the brakes, just driving along. I blamed the tire squeal on my locker (but its selectable) and I blamed my speed on my inaccurate speedometer (larger tires). He told me it took a lot for him to catch up to me so he knew I was bombing but couldn't do a thing about it since he didn't actually see me. I got off with a warning

REALLY glad he didn't see me at top speed.

Ha - I hear ya - I've done that a few times.

I've been pretty good about speeding tickets - that story was my only time getting pulled over for it. I've had close calls to getting pulled over but I just try to be smart and safe about it. I'll do it when no one else is around and the chances of their being a cop in the area are slim to none.

well it was my second time on the road so i wasnt really sure where they tend to post up. as for gettin some i was babyin her since she was sick. but yeah i would say its worth it. but tell u somethin else some genius backed into my Lightning last nite while it was parked. luckily i was walkin out to my truck and i seen him tryin to drive off and i chased him down.

damage isnt too bad but my tube bumper is bent in and down as well as the paint is screwed. needless to say it wont be like that for long.

I got speeding ticket recently in my Mustang, 65 mph in 50 mph zone. $165 and 4 pts. Went to court, they reduced 4 pts to 2 pts.
You can call lawyer, they can probably make that ticket dissapear (make it into parking ticket or something like that), but it will cost you.

I try to not speed when I don't know the area or don't know the likelihood of cop presense. I'll do it when nobody is around, I know the road, and I know there is a slim chance of being caught.
