sub installation
Plus jazz doesn't sound too good when "thumpy"
Anyway, I have subs in all my vehicles except for my F350 - even though it's a crewcab, there really is no obvious place to put decent sized subs. Behind the rear seat would seem logical, except the space there is identical to a regular cab - i.e. enough for a bottle of radiator fluid and a home depot "flat pack" tool kit, and that's about it.
So like you, I'm following this thread to see how people have shoved subs into their trucks.
I may end up making a really thin "L" shaped box to get the volume.... if I can find a thin-enough woofer to fit behind the seat at the bottom, and have part of the enclosure to under the seat.
Here is something for an extended cab, for under the rear seat:

Here is something for the newer body style, but may give you ideas:

I don't believe there is enough room under the xcab seats on the 87-96s. You might be able to fit an 8" under there but it's tough. There is very little room under the seat because the floor comes up high in the back, and raising the seat will make people hit their heads on the ceiling. I left everything as is and made two removable boxes for my 10" subs. Picture a square with a corner chopped off - thats what I did. The sub is angled and slides in behind the two captains chairs...so the base is right at your lower back. I have my amp under the rear seat. I never have more than 4 people in my truck, and I can take the passanger side sub and put it up on the seat behind the driver to clear room. And if I want to fold the rear seat down into the bed than I can just remove the subs - undo the amp and it's out in 5-10 minutes.
