I've done a little searching. It appears 92-93 swap, 94-95 swap, and 96 can only use 96. I have a 94 w/ tach. I want to get rid of the tach and put in a standard one.
I have a 93 cluster sitting here. It appears that some 94's had 93 clusters put in them. So, when I take mine out, the part number should tell, right?
Reason I don't want the factory tach. is that I got a nice Auto Meter one cheap. I also have a matching water temp gauge. Plus, looking on eBay for the last 6 months off and on, reverse glow gauge faces are extremely cheap for the ones w/o tach. The ones for a cluster w/ a tach. are over $60. So, in the end, its getting done for better looks.
Anyone know of any wires that will need to be changed? Why won't 92-93's swap with a 94? And, I do not have to change my speedometer, right?

I would just suggest that you pay particular attention to where the "AMP" (charging system warning) light is connected - if it's in the wrong place, your charging system will just not work.

Right - your existing speedo will fit in the other cluster - it has its own connector which passes through a hole in the cluster "chassis", so there's no issue there.
BTW, I still have the non-tach cluster that I took out of my '94 - let me know if you need one, and maybe we can figure something out. I'm considering putting it up on eBay, but I don't know if anyone (other than you wants the non-tach version...
