Just want to say that I am among the many who are looking for a replacement for the Conti Tires. I went to the BFG website and sent them an email asking about 18" replacements. This is my email and their answer:
My question
"I have an 2006 Ford F350 with LT275/70R18/E 125S Tires. Currently I don't
see a load range E tire in this size. There are many who don't like the
Continental tires that came with the vehicle. Will you be offering a
replacement for them in the AT/KO Line"

Their response
Sorry, not at this time.
We will forward your e-mail to our Marketing group.
I think if everyone who wants BFG replacements goes to their website and asks the same question, then maybe they will get moving and provide us with an improved tire.
So lets swamp em with emails so they know how many want them
Maybe we can also include other tire manufacturers..
like many others - I have emailed them and others
a few times since last year
I think they have been overwhelmed with emails and
inquires by now-- I just dont know what the hold up is
but i guess every little bit helps
Josh
I also emailed them when i first bought my truck, they told me that there were not any plans for production of the size i was looking for. My 05 250 came with BFGs just not the AT/KO that i would like to have on the truck. Maybe someday they will make them. You would think with so many of these trucks out there they would have already had sizes and load ratings in the at/ko for these trucks.
I tried Goodyear, also and got the same message. They recommend Cooper tires.
I guess we all know the reason Continental is the only manufacturer, No one else wanted to make them. I don't know why they can't see the demand is there. Basic economics would tell you there is money to be made.
I have 04 PSD 250 with stock Goodyear AT LT 275/65R-18E with 53000 on them so far, about to the end of the tread life maybe 5000 to 7000 miles to go. I have to say one thing, I have never balanced the tires, I rotate them during the oil change. I will go back with them when the time comes. I've gotten prices around $197.00 each.
