Hey my dad has a 2000 ford superduty. He has always loved the looks of the frotnend of the 2005 superduty frontend. So for christmas I bought him a 2005 grill modified to fit his truck. Now since he got the grill. I was wondering does anyone know if 2005 headlights would fit in and work on his truck? I know that the 2005 got the turnsignals and headlights (looks like one assembaly) and well i know that the 2000 has 2 assembalys the turngignals themselfs and the lights. I am trying to find him a set of lights that would work in his truck that would either be out of soemthing liek a 2005 or look about the same as a 2005.
thanks,
jimmy
Oh yeah? What I am trying to do tho is find soemthign close if not use the 2005 headlights for my dads truck so when its done it will look like a 2005 in the frontend. I really like the looks of a 2005 headlight assembaly and so does my dad.
thanks,
jimmy
thoes look pretty radical. I like them but i dont know how much he would like them. id have to talk it over with him after seeign what your talkign about they run about 188 on ebay correct? I gues there isn't anyway to fit a 2005 light in the truck is there?

Below is the info i just recently got from DCSpecial on the retrofit
"Fairly easy to retrofit the '05-06 headlamps. Basically just need to take your time and cut the header panel, which is fiberglass, (we used a rotozip) to get the headlamp assembly to full sit back against the fender and look stock. Then to supply juice to the 9008 bulbs in the 05-06 bulbs I used the heavy duty plug and play harness offered by Black Cloud Diesel. And I put Silverstar 3157 bulbs in the parking lamp/turn signals.
The bottom of the headlamp assembly is secured using the same screws in the same location as the 99-04 corner lenses did. For the top we just ran a screw throught the top tab of the headlamp assembly into the header panel."
Yep can be done....as noted by my quote posted by Autobahn
If you opt for the Harley Davidson Edition headlamps as I did, (have the black background vs. the chrome background on the standard '05-06 headlamps) they are more $$ than the standard ones.
You can also go to ford and buy the pigtail light for a 04 f150 and splice it in to the truck and that will work with the 05 headlights. thats what i did.
Yeah, you can get the pigtails from Ford. But, when I priced them out they were $55 each at the local dealer. The plug and play harness offered by Black Cloud Diesel includes two 40amp relays, two fuse holders w/fuses, and is cheaper than buying two pigtails from Ford. With the upgraded harness you no longer have the voltage drop by the time the juice gets to the lights....that and it's capable of handling some high wattage aftermarket bulbs . And no cutting and splicing with the harness offered by BCD, just plug it into the stock harness on the driver's side, hook it up the battery, hook up a couple of grounds, plug in the relays, run the wiring and plug into the '05 headlamps. Just something to think about....and Black Cloud Diesel is a site sponsor
