Ant Rant

Sorry for the rant folks. Gotta do it here or someone at our apt. complex management could get hurt. We've been having ant problems for a few months now. Just one big out break and then a little one a couple times. This morning wake up to find em in the kitchen. Blood pressure elevating. Get home tonight, getting ready for bed. Find em in laundry hamper. Find em on floor. Find em in laundry on floor. Find em every freakin where except the bed. For all I know, they;re there too. Scared to go to bed now. Every other invasion I've gotten bit and the bites always swell up and hurt. No longer near as tired as I was. We've never found they're point of entry.
So tonight I go next door to the neighbors, just checkin ya know. Wow! They'rehaving problems too. So are their downstairs neighbors. Both have had complex spray but they still keep coming back. I guess the ants must have set up shop in the walls. I'm just wondering given the extent of the problem the complex is aware of, why they didn't tell the rest of the building. No evidence they sprayed anywhere but the other 2 apartments. Ruining my christmas big time. Plus now our bedroom smells like Raid. We can't sleep in that crap!
Okay, rant off.

We had an ant problem this fall. I tried everything to deter them.

Finally found a method that worked - as long as you can find the point of entry. Believe it or not I dumped ground cinnamon at their entry and along the counters in the kitchen where they were feasting on whatever they could find.

Never saw another ant after that. Our ants were the little brown ones.

Good luck. I know how annoying they are!

Where do you live "mymech"? I'm in central Maryland and we've had a terrible year with ants too. We have a "professional" service hired and they aren't so professional either as they couldn't get rid of 'em either. Never had 'em in bed tho....Now THAT would really **** me off ...oops, can I say that here? They say it on TV now.

Anyway, rant on....I understand!

I'm in GA. Ya know, the bed thing brings back memories. When I was still at home with the rents they had an ant problem. I'm layin in bed watchin TV and feel something moving down south, if ya know what I mean. Found an ant crawling around down there. Scared the crap outta me. Luckily he never got in a biting mood.

Ground cinnamon, or some folks say garlic salt, throws their scent trail off so they can't make it back.
