Damn they are expensive, has anyone found them for the 460 for less than 450?
Go to BroncoGraveyard via this link and look down the page, a little below the L&L headers. You'll find a generic brand of fenderwell exit headers for the 460 for $355. What I don't like is they are not coated/finished. If you paint them with high-temp paint it's gonna start rusting in no time. If you get them ceramic coated you'll pay another $100-$150 for that. Anyway, here's the link: http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/c-99_460_swaps.htm
I have a 78 F-350 Custom 2wd 140" wheelbase w/400M 4 spd w/o AC ( I think that's all the specifics ). It's an old farm truck more or less. One stock exhaust manifold is cracked and exhaust is rusty. It also has the LH inside frame gas tank which causes problems it seems for dual exhaust. I suppose you have to run em down the RH side of the inside frame if you want to do that. Also..........from what I've researched, they don't make conventional aftermarket headers that will work with the 4spd linkage and such.
Good thread on these fenderwell exiting headers. Would this be a good option for me??? Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated. I like to do things myself. And I know dual exhausts with the factory cast iron manifolds ( after I replace the cracked one ) would require professional help which wouldn't cost less than $200 probably.
I have a 79 f-150 supercab 4x4 with the 400, and jsut bought flowtech headers for it, what kind of stuff gets in the way, and is it still pheasable to fit the headers in?
Many things can get in the way. The frame, starter, front driveshaft, dipstick, tranny. Depends on how the headers are built. I sent a pair of dynomax's back because they hit the frame and barely clearanced the driveshaft, ended up with Hedmans instead.
I listed the hooker header from a P.A.W. catalog(2004). try HOO-6914 in their catalog. it says f100, f250, but I don't think there's any difference up front for the f350. however dynomax is certainly cheaper.
