hey i was lookin for some decent headers and some engine mounts for my 79 460 landlproducts are pretty expensive and thats the only company that i know that carries my type of engine mount. i check summit and jegs and i think jegs didnt have any but summit did and they were polyurthane(spelling) is there any other kinda engine mounts that are cheaper? also for the headers i kno headman headers in summitracing has some super comp headers and there around 460.00 and thats a but high. i got a 1981 f250 frame with a 79 460 engine thats 4WD is that the only price range im gonna find for this type of setup? any help is greatly apprecated.
When I buy headers for my 86 F250 4x4 460/C-6. I plan to buy a set of huggers/shortys, headers that will bolt to the stock 2.5" exhaust pipes. The reason is because having to slingshot the exhaust on the right side crossing over or should say crossing under the bellhousing reg. headers are too long and I don't want exhaust under tranny. Also cheaper headers leak, and on and on. If you want a good header plan to pay $300 +.
As for motor mounts why won't a set of stock mounts work? 80-86 F250 frames are as far as I know are the same, are the mount positions different on 79 460s than say my 86 460?
For what its worth- I've got a '78 F350 4x2 that I swapped a 400 to a 460. I used motormounts by Transdapt, and Hedman Elites. The mounts looked identical in the pictures compared to L&L, and were 80.00. The headers were 310.00 from Jegs.
i used to own an 86 bronco till it was stolen but i did a 460 swap in it years ago used the l&l mounts they were around a $100 or go to a junk yard and find some off the same motor from your year of truck,as far as headers theres in frame 3/4 length like stans tri y"s or hooker super comp both are spendy but worth it or you can go to the fenderwell exit style . jeffs bronco graveyard has some around 400.when i did my exhaust on my bronco i ran the drivers side exhaust right down the inside of the frame rail up and over the transfer case and straight out the rear .passenger side was much easier ,but i had a body lift on it too
you can get the motor mounts for the 460 in the same year truck and they won't bolt up, the frame perches are drilled in a different place. Now I have heard of guys redrilling them to match the stock motor mounts, and some cut the rivets out, and get the frame perches for the same year F250 2wd, and bolt them in but even stock mounts are close to $50 I have done it both ways, and trust me after your done those $100 L&L mounts seem pretty cheap, and are supposed to be gaurenteed for life I know I have never had a problem with them. Also for headers look at a set for a E350 van same year with a 460, I know if you want to use stock exhaust that is the ones to use, and I am pretty sure the headers are the same way, but won't swear to it as haven't tried but heard that works although I have used stockers, and they fit perfect.
cool thats for all the replies ill probly go with some transdapt mounts as for the headers i dono i guess ill save up some money for that thanks for the replies also im a pretty avid hockey player and have alot of hockey pucks lying around chould i do a body lift with them if i drilled a hole through the middle of the pucks and put a bolt through the middle?

Depends on how much you like life........ hockey pucks can break and cause ya to lose control of the truck.........I sure as hell wouldn't do it and body lifts for these trucks are pretty cheap
heh yeah i suppose they chould break i was lookin at a lift kit from superlift for 1k and it was 4" seems kinda pricey ehh i guess its better than dieing oh well thanks n e ways
