Changing Times??

Was jsut heating up my lunch in the break room and while it was "cooking", picked up a copy of the local paper that was laying there. They always have this column, I think it is called "Police Blotter" os some such thing adn they list all the crimes and arrests in it (ok, its a fairly small town ).

Something struck me as a bit unusual in it today. There were three arrests for "domestic violence" over the weekend. Not real unusual I suppose, but....
All three of the people arrested were women. Two for assaulting their husbands and one for assualting there 60+ y/o step-father.

Just made me stop and think......hhhhmmmm, you *have* come a long way, baby!

Women....

They're the ones that drag our old wore out ***** out into the real world. They do the things we won't do, they put up with us working until quitting time, then going home and waiting for them to perform...one way or the other...

They gather and mail all the greeting, get-well, birthday, etc., cards, because if they didn't it wouldn't get done. They either work all day, come home and work all night washing junky overalls, 3-peice suits, ball uniforms and our skid-marked underwear; or they keep house all day, then make the second shift keeping it while we prop up our feet and watch CSI. They take our spittoons out and beat the mud off our boots. They put 30.30 rounds where they're supposed to be while taking our gloves, covered in fox pee, out to the back porch pantry.

I'm sure this time of year when they try to get all the Christmas shopping done, all the plans made and coordinated, all the kids' school functions going....that probably one man in 10 (if not fewer) acted like he couldn't care less and wondered where his supper was. I imagine the stress (that women ain't supposed to handle as well as us menfolk) has just about driven them insane. I bet we see more in the following days...

I agree with Big Orn but the stress o' the season isn't the only reason. I was an officer for a short time before career left turn and the way a domestic is handled by the police is changing all across the country. Used to be if the husband was hit by the wife and the police showed up they made fun of the husband and told the wife to calm down. Now if either person hits the other and causes injury, even if minor, the officer has to make an arrest as a part of department policy. Now this policy isn't everywhere but it is a lot more common now than 20 years ago - when it didn't exist. I'm 100% for equal rights, but equal rights means equal rights. Look at all these cases in the news where an adult female teacher has sex with an underage boy, most men go "way to go son" but if it were a male teacher and an underage girl then lock him up and throw away the key. I agree with the lock'em side regardless of whether the offender is male or female, psycholgical damage is likely regardless of whether the victim is a boy or girl. Sorry for the long post and tangent, just thought it kind of applies to my arguement. My .02.

Yea - I guess you gotta consider all aspects, TXPSD. There's trashy folks out there. Can't all be like our wives and mama's, I reckon.
