Hello.
I´m planning to buy a 4-speed manual, and i have just found one. But the seller told it is Toploader but came from a late 70´s Ford van or pick up.It has these numbers on it´s case:
RF-070R-7A040-AA or RF-D7DR-7A040-AA and 2603808.
So,is it a toploader or not,and how long it will live behind 460 bigblock.Car is ´64 Galaxie fastback.
I am not sure about the partnumbers. Only problem you will have using a manual trans out of a pickup is that it will probably have granny low gear. Not sure if this it what you want in a car or not. Good luck

well yes it is A toploader, but no it is not THE toploader, the late ones were usually overdrive and significantly weaker from what I've been told, look for a older big block "big in big out" toploader
