Man DC, that thing just looks plain mean. I'm not saying that in an urban slang kind of way. I'm saying it in a you wouldn't want to **** off the younger, much bigger, brother of that Lincoln Mark III, in that '70's movie The Car, kind of way. Hell, I'd more over for it.

Thanks for the compliment
The front bumper started out as a stock bumper off of an XL packaged work truck (comes all grey, no plastic at the bottom, all metal). I pulled it off of one of our work trucks. I made the light mounts out of 6.625" OD .250" wall pipe, then cut the bumper, and welded them in, did some grinding to smooth out the front, cut the lower corner for better tire clearance, rewelded on the lip and then had it prepped and painted. The lights in it are PIAA 520 fog lights with the ion crystal lens. I'll be making another one just like it for my buddy, and fellow FTE'er 'Bear Hunter' here shortly

Yeah, I was really impressed with the look of the HD lights vs. my old ones with clear corners. I was hesitant at first about ordering them, but Bear Hunter and another buddy of ours talked me into it....I'm glad they did

Yeah, that's the look I'm going for .....and people do tend to move out of my way when I'm coming up quickly in their rear view mirror . Still have a few more mods to darken it out some more...

I bought the grille shell used off an Excursion. It was originally chrome, and the previous owner had it painted black......so then I had it painted True Blue.
Not too hard to install the '05-'06 headlamps. Just need to do some cutting of the header panel to get them to sit in there good and look stock. Then I used the plug and play harness offered by Black Cloud Diesel to supply juice to the '05 headlight bulbs ('05-06 use a 9008/H13 bulb....vs. the 9007 bulb used in the 99-04 SDs).
Awesome job on the truck! If only I had a taller garage opening (I only clear by an inch now!)... would love to start the mod work... and I would definitely follow your lead! You da man!
One question... how did you tint the tails lights? I think that mod will fit in my garage... ha ha

Thanks for the compliment . When I was looking for houses, I made sure I found one that had room to install a bigger door......have a 8'9"x18' door on there now .
I used Transparent Black Window Tint from the model section of Hobby lobby to tint the tails and 3rd brake. I pulled the tails, cleaned them with soap and water, scuffed them up with 1000 grit sandpaper, clean them with mineral spirits, sprayed 8 thin layers of tint (approx. 2 of the 3 oz. cans) allowing it to dry in between coats, and then finished it off with three coats of a high gloss clear acrylic sealer. Gotta give thanks to Bear Hunter who told me how to do this.
I later found out VHT makes a products called Niteshades (if I remember correctly) that is for tinting lenses as well....
Whats the word im looking for its on the tip of my tongue here it comes BEEEFY!That thing is sweet excellent work.Nothing like a big bad ford!appreciate ya!
Holy cow. I just made a post about how I'm done with the exterior of my truck. Thanks a lot DC, you just messed that idea all up now. I think your truck is what mine wants to be when it grows up.
DC - The truck looks great!!! How are the ARBs working for you? I haven't gotten around to doing them on the Range Rover due to I went through a series of bad luck with my fleet of vehicles this summer and the mod money went into repairs. At least the SD got a leveling kit out of the front axle repairs I had to do to it!!
So what is nexted for that rig of yours??? By the way, glad to have you back online!!!

Thanks for the compliment
When you get hooked on modding these trucks I'm not sure if you can ever really be "done" . I'm close to being done with the exterior of my truck.....although I'm sure there will be something new that I'll eventually want to change....and I would really like to eventually go with a 5-link front, 4-link rear with King Coilovers
I'm addicted to this big time

Thanks for the compliment....and glad to have more time to be back online .
Honestly, haven't gotten around to hooking up my air system yet. Been so busy this year with work and personal business that I haven't had much free time. I have all the fittings so I hope to have them operating within the next couple of weeks now that I have some more free time. I've had my compressor and tank mounted since like April or May. Mocked up how I'm going to plumb the filter, regulator, and solenoid valves the other day....just need to pull them all apart and teflon them up.
Next is custom badges from Steve at billetbadges.com. Been working with him over the last month or so coming up with ideas and perfecting what I want done. He's great to work with. Hope to make my final decision and place my order soon.
And then installing some reverse lamps in the rear bumper and getting it painted to match the truck. I'm looking seriously at the PIAA 1500 Back-Up lamps since they have a 180* beam pattern....french them in the rear bumper, and possibly lightly tint the lenses so they blend in more.
After that who knows......my wish list is too long and requires too much $$
Absolutley love the truck, can't ever have to many lights. How do the hella's work from behind the grille. Was thinking of doing something similar, except that i have the stock grille and was worried about how much light they would throw. Sweet lookin truck.
