I havent personally seen an aftermarket cruse system but I would go and scavenge parts from a junkyard. You just need to find a ford truck or bronco from 80 to about 86 or so or whenever they stopped using the vaccume system. It should all bolt into yours like a glove.
The cruscontrol in my 82 still works and I love using it, most people I talk to can't beleive it has cruise control.

The vacuum setup was used through the 1992 model year but the speed sensing setup was different prior to the use of the VSS in the rear differential housing. The VSS came into use with the E4OD which required that the computer know the exact RPM's that the axle was turning to properly control the transmission shift functions. Like BRK said, there is a good possibility you can find the components in another truck and swap them in. Since it was a factory option, the wiring harness should even have the necessary connections built in already, you will just have to supply the cruise components to make it work.

i had cruise control in it from the factory but it was taken out, and ever since, i have wanted to replace it but never found the right time and place to get it. I was hoping for a aftermarket one so i would not have to use one from the junkyard but it sounds like i need to.

The aftermarket setups tend to be pretty contrived in the manner in which they determine the vehicle speed. The OEM setup is usually a little better and doesn't let your speed fluctuate as much as most aftermarket products. This is just my personal experience talking here. Someone else may tell you an aftermarket is the way to go for some other reason.

I remember an aftermarket cruise unit that was floating around for classic Mustangs...I'll look around for that. And there's tons of aftermarket a/c units for almost anything. Search it around a little.
