fixxed my horn!

My horn has worked only off and on for about 2 years. I finaly got around to looking at it today. It was not getting a good ground through the steering column. I'm not sure but I think there is a metal piece inside the rag joint that makes this ground. Does anybody know if this is true.I used a jumper from top to bottom of joint out of the way of everthing to get by inspection tomorrow.

I've heard some guys saying there was a strap on the rag joint. It stands to reason, because I do know, the horn wire is grounded to make it blow. The hot wire goes to the horn relay, and then the relay is grounded to activate it through the metal disc in the steering wheel.

Clint I did that to my blue truck and it worked. You probably don't have the firewall to engine ground strap connected. The cab sits on rubber mounts and the column has the rag joint so the ground back to the battery is lacking. Try a wire from the cab to the chassis or to the engine and see if it doesn't work just as well.
