The good thing about that whole situation, is i am his nephew, and I am the only relative to him that has any interest in cars and stuff like that. Some time thisnext summer I am going to take a bunch of pics of all the neat stuff he has kicking around.
Yeah I know how "parts" vehicles work too! Yeah I swear I will buy this truck just for parts, next thing ya know ya need a parts vehicle for that one too!
You guys are amazing at getting side tracked. It makes for an interesting read. As for hobbies, Beekeeping, bluegrass/classical musician, smallscale biodiesel producer, general Mr. fix-it(something is always broken). Always looking for a new way to modify my PSD. (unfortunately, my wife and wallet have other ideas)
Oh yeah, I got a 1981 Suzuki GS650L last summer and finally started riding. Only got one ride in this summer though. Broke my neck in spring and was off the bike until October.
Well......... I was offloading my (pedal) bike off the back of my truck and, well, I, um, didn't carry it off. I decided to relive my teens and ride it off. Didn't work. Bike dropped, I tried to roll, but didn't get far enough. Landed on the back of my head with my body still vertical and smasked 2 vertibre. Sheared off the disc between, and banged up a few more things. 2 weeks later, I had the disc removed, the 2 vertibre fused with a shim of bone out of my hip and a plate in front and a pin in the back.
Not my brightest moment. Spent 6 months off work and I'm still on light duties as I'm not cleared for regular duties by the sugeon yet. Luckily, I only have a little numbness in my right thumb. Not bad for having broken my neck, I'd say.
That's about it.
Fullcrew you will enjoy riding your bike next year, they are a fun little bike. I spent all summer getting my Goldwing running, so, just like you next year.
Fomoko1 and 66gpw I feel like a bit of an a$$. I was just going through this thread reading the posts and somehow I missed your your questions/responses to my posts.
Fomoko1, I kinda got lucky with the Goldwing, the bike was road worthy when I bought it, just didn't run right and the guy was a bit deperate to sell so I only paid a $1000.00 for it. The parts for the carbs and brakes I got off of ebay so only paid about a 1/4 of what the dealers charge. So far the bike has only cost me about $1500.00 and a lot of time.
66gpw thanks for the info on the 101 I will go to the web site and check out the pic's if that dosen't work I will shoot you an email. Also, thanks for the pics of the trucks, they don't look to bad, may have to take a trip.
