I have XM, but wished I had Sirius. After I got XM hooked up in my truck, a coworker brought in a Sirius boombox that I listen to at work. I definately like the progrommang on Sirius better. If you want to hear some obscure song by a group you have never heard before, then get XM. Sirius seems to play more mainstream music.
I have XM in my truck, personal car and business car. Guess it depends on what you like....I'm in my 60's. Love the choice of 50's - 60's 70's etc. Also great country selection. Most all the music channels are ad free ... except for the oldies commericals they play for grins. I think either of the sat services allow you easily switch units around in your vehicles. Just buy extra mounts.
I think I'm a little biased tho...my company installed all the broadcast booths at the XM studios! XM has MANY more subscribers...something over 7 million while Sirus has around one million. Rumors going 'round that either XM is buying Sirus or they are merging. Don't see how Sirus can afford Howard Stern and stay in business......
I used to be a subscriber of XM, still enjoy hearing it on Direct TV, but have since switched to Sirius for HOWARD STERN and other programming as well
Can't wait till Jan!!!
I like 104/105 comedy,63 Outlaw country and 6,8,10,15,19,31(Margaritaville)
Had two XM. Now have two Sirius units for last year or so. Better programing. Think Stern thing is getting overblown. I'll listen but Sirius is better with or without him.
Have had both in more than one vehicle....SIRIUS has the best programming.
They are both very similar and either would be OK,,,, but you will notice many more hit songs played more regularly on SIRIUS....
GOOD LUCK
