Wink Superchip 1805 FlashPaq

Has anyone heard of this new offering from superchips? It seems to be the way of the future based on what you read from their website. More options and best of all you can update via the internet. No down time waiting for shipping. Anyone know about this thing? I have one comming for Christmas. Maybe the first one to instal it here on a new 2006 crewcab 4X4 diesel! My only concern has been the truck I have has the 20 inch tires and I wonder how it will do with any programmer..............

Vic said it contains the exact same tunes that are curently like in the 1700 series models. It just has more options and internet capabilites. No diffrence in power or anything like that. I have the 1706 and I love it! The truck runs smoother and much stronger than stock. There should be no problem with the 20'' rims unless you're asking about recailibrating the speedo??

My truck came from Ford with the 20 inch tires and wheels so the speedometer is ok. I am wondering about the power with the taller tire as opposed to smaller diameter. They did not change the gear ratio I think its 3.73.

I have whatever Ford calls their rearend........I think its traction lock. If you work for Ford I am sure you are familiar with the 20 inch tire and wheel pkg my truck came with. It runs fine but I like everyone else want more as well as more mileage. Will post results after Christmas.......I have an 1805 coming for Christmas present to the truck.

Thumbs up

i am considering an 1805 for my 2004 excursion, any update on how yours is working?

I can vouch for the 1805 flashpaq! I installed mine December the 24th and I am amazed that there can be that much difference with just a reprogram. I went for the performance mode and my mileage has actually increased a small amount but I expect it would do better in economy mode. No problems with instal smooth as could be. Performance ask my Chevy buddy when he catches up! I would highly recommend it to anyone.........Haven't been to the website to look for updates yet but I guess I will eventually look around and see what may come up..............

thanks ps 06. i think the only time you need to update the tuner is when ford comes out with a new flash the dealer installs it during a service call. at that point instead of sending the unit back to superchips so it will work with the new flash, you can download the new programing from the internet.

If you are bringing your vehicle in for service, you need to return the vehickle to stock programming. Then the Flashpaq will copy the upgraded stock programming when you install a performance tune.
