I picked up a SUPERCHIP Programmer, but its VIN-Locked.. is there a way to blow this lock out, or does SuperChip company reset it for you? anyone have this problem? thanks..
The only way is to have SuperChips themselves reset it for you. They can do it via the internet. You may have some hoops to jump through though to get them to unlock it as the tune is still in the original vehicle it was purchased for and they will want proof that vehicle no longer is being used. That is the dirty side of buying a used tuner.
A few years back I picked up one. Was vin locked. Had to send it in and have it reset. Cost was $100.00. Had I to do it again and would have known better I would have been looking at 5 Star Tuning.

If you look on the forum you will see 5 Star tuning Icon in different places. Click onto it. Or go to www.5startuning.com
Then read up on it. after that go to the tuning forum and you will find a section on tuning, there will be a page to go to on that also. It has postings from happy buyers of the SCT that they sell with custom tunes.
I have SCT extreme race in my 6.4 and I love it... softer shifts, great milage, and reprograms for the egr, cat/dpf delete. It also reads codes recalculates tire size and provides vitals produced by the ecm. The basic tune does the same I believe.... as the race tunes are getting difficult to find
I also have the SCT for my 6.0L.
I had some problems with updating the unit and I called the support
people at SCT and they were very helpful and we got the problem
fixed. My stupid desktop did not have enough power on the USB port
I was using. SCT Performance - More Power! Less Fuel!
You can also check with the link in my sig and talk to the people over at
Gearhead they do 7.3's also. Matt writes some really good tunes for the 6.0
You may ask in the 7.3 forum to see who is the better tuner.
